The study, which polled members of popular networking websites, revealed a staggering 92 percent of users focus their social networking efforts on business-related activities.
The survey shows as social networking evolves beyond college kids and HR recruiters to include small business owners and entrepreneurs, the need for new levels of business-focused tools that address real world concerns rises dramatically.

In the survey, respondents highlighted top uses and reasons for joining social networks. A summary of the key findings from the survey include:
- More than half of users spend at least an hour per day on social networking sites
- Only nine percent of social network users find any business value in time spent on Facebook or MySpace
