Charles F. Toney
Charles Toney has worked more 35 years providing organizational development
and training in a number of fortune 500 companies. Most of his career has
focused on helping companies accelerate growth and improve performance. He
spent approximately 15 years of his career at NUMMI - a joint venture
between Toyota and General Motors, as a management consultant and trainer.
Here, his work often took him to Japan where he became steeped in the
Japanese methods of strategy management, synchronous manufacturing, quality
control and team work. He also traveled extensively to locations
throughout the US, Canada and Europe providing top management with
innovative methods of improving business results.
Prior to NUMMI, Charles' career primarily involved working at the manager
and executive levels in various Human Resources roles including:
Employment, Employee Relations and Human Resources Development. For the
past three years, he has been an independent management consultant,
actively engaged helping companies build high performing teams, create
learning organizations and plan and work through complex organizational
change. He is highly respected for his ability to "think outside the box"
and to facilitate breakthrough policy activities in client organizations.
Charles has a passionate interest in contributing to the development of
tomorrow's entrepreneurs and business leaders. To that end, he currently
serves as the President and CEO Students for the Advancement of Global
Entrepreneurship (S.A.G.E.). He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in
Sociology from San Jose State University. He has also completed graduate
