I have worked as an independent consultant within the areas of sales and business development. My objective has been to develop and boost the business of my customers, who are primarily companies within the ICT business. I moved to Ottawa, ON from Denmark in early 2010 and have set up my business (A.R. Market Research Inc., in order to continue building on my experience, and I have added services for companies based in Canada that are looking to expand their business to the Scandinavian market. Some of my projects include:

A global ERP vendor with 3.000 employees worldwide:
I have worked for a global ERP vendor for more than a year, helping them to generate leads and increase awareness as well as gaining business intelligence amongst decision makers at some of the largest companies in the respective markets of the client. The project involved targeting CFOs and CIOs within various business segments, such as manufacturing, processing, retail and wholesale. I have worked with sales and marketing managers of the company during the project.

A mid-sized IT company with 35 employees specialized in e-commerce, product information management and energy calculation systems:
I have worked for this client for 3 years, developing a go to market strategy and implementing the plan. My role has been to generate leads and boost the sales by identifying prospects for the various product lines of the company, and I have during this project worked closely with the founder and CEO of the company.

An international developer and provider of payment terminals to the retail market, restaurants and hotels with 300 employees:
I was responsible for developing and carrying out a market analysis in order to assess how the company was perceived by potential prospects compared to their main competitors, and I was also responsible for training and coaching the sales staff in cold calling and following up on leads.

IT company with 10 employees that provides add-on modules for a specific CRM system in order to enhance the value of applying and using CRM system:
I was hired to develop a business plan for the company in order to help the company gain a better understanding of their market opportunities. The work resulted in a review of the companys direction, and it was determined that the company needed to focus more on sales and management. The work was conducted together with the founder of the company.

Midsized North European company with offices in Scandinavia, UK, the Netherlands with 40 employees. The company develops and distributes software in order to optimize transportation and distribution planning:
I was hired to conduct training through workshops for their European sales staff regarding cold calling and account management with emphasis on acquiring practical skills that could be transferred immediately into their daily routines.

A company that is a developer and supplier of business application for the leisure industry with 25 employees.
I was hired to develop a business plan for the expansion of the company which at that time was the leading domestic business application vendor for the fitness and leisure industry. The company had exhausted its market base domestically and needed to expand to the European market. As part of the implementation of the business plan I was hired as an interim sales manager with the responsibility of establishing the first contacts outside their domestic market in Denmark, and the cooperation resulted in the first deals closed abroad in Sweden and Germany.

I began my career in Zurich Insurance where I was hired as a trainee. I went on to become underwriter for specialty lines and casualty, and then I was promoted to Nordic Business Development Manager with the responsibility of developing solutions targeted specific business segments. The branch office in Denmark was sold to a local company, Tryg (today TrygVesta), in 2002 and I stayed with Tryg for a year where I was primarily working with Balanced Score Card.
