Projects Performed

1. PRWONAM (Prediction of Regional Weather with Observational Meso-
Network & Atmospheric Modeling) for ISRO, Bangalore
ISRO wants to set its own stations for observational study and
predictions of weather for the crucial SDSC's launch pad. PRWONAM is
a part of it.
. 50m Micro Meteorological Tower: Tower was a four legged, guy
supported mast. Mast specs were given. Design and analysis for 65m/s
wind speed and 3 sec gust loading were carried and structure was
fabricated for 6m sections after the approval from ISRO-CED. 06
numbers of this tower installed at various places through out India
provides weather data for Launch Pad at SDSC, Sriharikota. AMPL is
expecting to have an order of 06 more numbers.
. Mini Boundary Layer Mast: It is a 16m triangular guyed mast designed
for a wind speed of 65m/s, with a gust loading for 3 seconds. Design
was made rugged to withstand the above specs. 25 numbers of MBLM were
ordered for observing atmospheric changes at low levels and were
installed at various places over the country.
. Shadow Ring: It is the first of its kind developed in India. The
objective of the shadow ring is to intercept the direct radiation
coming to the pyranometer from the sun during the whole day without
readjustment. As a result only the diffuse solar radiation is
measured. A regular schedule of maintenance would require manual
adjustment of the sliding bars (that are connected to the actual
shadow ring) every two days. This adjustment is necessary because the
elevation of the solar course changes slightly from day to day.

2. Mobile Satellite System (Sat-Com) Terminal for DEAL, Dehradun.
It is a satellite communication system used to transfer both voice
and data during the times of any calamity. The outline dimensions
were given and the setup was designed to house all the required
objects like telephone, laptop, antenna unit etc. There are different
variants in this project with the customer's requirement.

3. Auto Tracking System for ITR, Balasur, Orissa & NTRO, Bhuj, Gujarat.
Integrated Test Range (ITR) is a place where all the missiles
developed in India will be tested. The Auto Tracking system is to
track the missile's path. It is designed with a robust pedestal to
support the antenna of 4m radius and designed for a wind load of
120Kmph (operational). The system was given two travel paths i.e.,
Azimuth and Elevation. Two servo motors were used to drive the
antenna at 30 degrees/sec velocity.

4. Agro Meteorological Towers for IMD, Pune.
This is a 10m triangular guyed mast which is designed especially for
monitoring the crop with various weather conditions. 04 numbers were
initially ordered for observation and after satisfaction a repeat
order of 20 numbers was given to AMPL. These were installed at
various places over the country.

5. Design and Fabrication of Multi-Fluid Heat Exchanger suited for
Industrial Applications (Academic Project)
This project aims at providing high efficiency of heat transfer to
two cold fluids from a single hot sink. The three fluids are made to
flow either in parallel path or in counter flow directions with two
cold fluids in concentric tubes. Design and calculations for the
tubes passing through the shell and the fluid flowing through the
tubes were calculated and experimented for the results.
