DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
As a Court Reporter, my major duty has been to provide a verbatim record of
proceedings. I use a stenographic machine and a computer with software
designed to provide computer-aided transcription. I provide verbatim
transcription for depositions, trial proceedings, motion hearings, and
arbitrations.
From 1996 to 2002 in my position as an official court reporter, I did
provide realtime services to Judge Lindsay and other judges on a daily
basis for court proceedings of trials, hearings, etc. These proceedings
comprised of general terminology to complex terminology.
As a CART reporter, my major duty is to provide communication access to a
consumer who is hearing impaired and provide an ASCII disk when requested.
I have provided services on a one-on-one basis or projected for three or
more consumers during meetings and in educational settings. In addition to
my stenographic skills, I use organizational skills, accounting skills, and
management skills in performing my job as court reporter/CART reporter.
