University in Maryland, Alcohol and Drug Education and Support
Services, supervising full time substance abuse educator/counselor
(Associate Director), a part time counselor/educator (Assistant
Director), a work study student, a graduate assistant, and Program
administrative assistant. Responsibilities include administration of
Loyola\'s Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Education Program,
administrative and clinical supervision of staff, as well as provision
of intervention, evaluation and referral and counseling services
(facilitate support groups for recovering alcohol/drug dependent
students and for \"Adult Children of Alcoholics\" (ACOAs)). These
services include a State certified on campus Outpatient Treatment
Program for persons with psychoactive substance dependence available
to Loyola\'s students and offered to students of area colleges.

Affiliate Professor, Psychology Department.

September 1989 to July 1, 1993:

Alcohol and Drug Program Coordinator, Loyola College in Maryland,
reporting to Director of Counseling Center, with responsibility for
alcohol and drug abuse prevention education and intervention, referral
and counseling support services for all undergraduate students.
Supervise a full time Assistant Coordinator/educator and full time
secretary. Adjunct Professor in Psychology Department, teaching two
three credit undergraduate courses and one graduate course on
substance abuse/dependence and treatment
(PY 305, PY 306, and PY 639).

1991-1993: In addition to above position, Assistant Project Director
of a Fund for Improvement of Postsecondary Schools Education Grant,
written by author of this Rsum, to develop and implement a campus
wide alcohol and drug abuse prevention education program, supervising
a full time substance abuse educator and secretary.

September, 1988 to September, 1989:

Private practice of chemical dependency counseling, including
counseling, evaluation and referral services for persons affected by
alcoholism and drug addiction and consulting services to professionals
- physicians, attorneys, psychologists, social workers and other
health professionals.

September 1984 to September 1988:
Increasingly responsible positions administering New Beginnings
Chemical Dependency Programs for Recovery Centers of America, Inc.,
Washington, D.C., in the State of Maryland, as follows:
April 1986 to September 1988: Director of Treatment, New Beginnings
at Hidden Brook, Bel Air, Maryland. Primary responsibility for all
aspects of treatment in 52-bed, residential treatment center for
alcoholism and drug addiction, and for supervision of all clinical
staff in chemical dependency services.

September 1984 to March 1986: Director of Treatment, New Beginnings
at Meadows Recovery Center, Gambrills, Maryland. Responsibility for
all chemical dependency treatment services and clinical staff in 40-
bed residential treatment center for alcoholism and drug addiction.

November 1980 to June 1984:

Program Coordinator and Chief Counselor, Chemical Dependency Inpatient
Treatment Unit, The Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital, Towson, Md.
This position was created for the author of this Rsum. Thirteen bed
unit specializing in treatment of drug addiction, including narcotics
addiction. Significant role in the development and implementation of
treatment program, coordination of treatment among disciplines of
social workers, mental health workers, counselors, physicians and
nursing staff.

September 1979 to November 1980:

Alcoholism Counselor, Mountain Manor Rehabilitation Center, Baltimore,
Maryland. Individual counseling and group therapy on outpatient basis,
serving as Aftercare Resource for Mountain Manor\'s Inpatient Program.
Also responsible for individual and group work with alcoholics and
families seeking recovery on out-patient basis.

May to September 1980:

Part-time alcoholism counselor Johns Hopkins Alcoholism Recovery Unit,
1846 North Gay Street, Baltimore, Maryland.

1978- 1979:

CETA Counselor-Trainee, Self Help Counseling Center, Inc., 822 East
Market Street, York, Pennsylvania. Training and on the job experience
in counseling alcoholics in EAP-support center.

1963 - 1977:

Partner in Law Firm of Harter, Calhoun and Williams, Washington, D.C.,
a firm providing legal services to national corporate and trade
association clients in the food, drug, and cosmetic industries.
Services included practice before federal agencies such as U.S. Food
and Drug Administration, Federal Trade Commission, Department of
Agriculture, and Environmental Protection Agency, before the Federal
Courts, including United States Supreme Court, and drafting and
presenting testimony on proposed legislation before U.S. Congressional

Professional Counselors and Therapists, State of Maryland Department of
