Accomplishments/Abilities
Leadership Lead and coordinated strategies for reaching goals on fast track teams of up to 10 participants. Served as leader of a four member teaching team. Effectively maintained discipline of up to 120 middle school students. Provided direction and motivation for students who won mathematics and engineering competitions. Volunteered to be first person to instruct a sixth grade pre-algebra class at Bunche Middle School. Increased membership by 75 percent as the school Coordinator of the Southeastern Consortium for Minorities in Engineering. Selected to coordinate and revitalize the drill team at Bunche Middle School.

Training Assisted others in starting a home-based business. Taught adults who were interested in opening, expanding or working at daycare facilities. Planned, researched, and presented approximately 20 inventive lessons per week in mathematics, English, science, social science, health, human growth and development, and drug prevention to middle grades students. Evaluated student performance and provided enrichment or remediation as required. Effectively taught students from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Attended workshops then guided others in the implementation of new programs.

Communication/Writing Gave well structured presentations to those interested in total wellness. Managed over 150 telephone, mail, and walk-in requests per week from prospective students and parents concerning Connect with Tech, the President's Scholarship Program, and Campus Tours (recruiting programs at Georgia Tech). Assisted in organizing a Georgia Tech information session and campus tour for approximately 200 Atlanta Public School students by communicating with counselors at ten schools. As a teacher, fostered ongoing communication with parents by developing biweekly reports which included work samples for up to 29 middle grade students. Advised and assisted in resolving academic and social issues. Served and held offices on the Math, International Week, Science Fair, Discipline, and Honor's Day committees.

Organizing Assisted in balancing financial records for the President's Scholarship Program,a $1.8 million program, and Connect with Tech, a $30,000 program. Developed class schedules. Designed numerous creative bulletin boards, displays and other projects. Planned and implemented a school wide mousetrap car, essay, and poster contest which involved coordinating approximately 40 students and 15 faculty and staff members. Organized and supervised field trips including as many as 120 students and 15 chaperones to local and out-of-town destinations.

Volunteer Experience
Served on committee which plans and chaperones local and out-of-town activities for senior citizens. Distributed food and clothing to needy families at food and clothing bank.
