Resume
Myron Cherry has led the Chicago law practice Myron M. Cherry & Associates, LLC, as Managing Partner since he founded the firm nearly three decades ago. During this time, Attorney Cherrys firm has achieved successful results in diverse areas of corporate governance, environmental law, civil rights, and class action litigation. His practice achieved a $44 million decision in Mansfield v. Air Line Pilots Association International (2010) and a $25.5 million pre-trial settlement in Ventas v. Sullivan & Cromwell (2006).
Myron Cherrys plaintiff and defense experience extends to the commercial litigation sphere. His firm notably defended a company facing Lanham Act copyright infringement claims totaling $18 million. A complex legal restructuring approach led to the elimination of virtually all monetary claims, with the case ultimately settled for $100,000. In another commercial litigation matter, the law firm represented a client seeking enforcement of an oral securities-purchase contract. A precedent-setting Cook County circuit court decision determined that the oral contract was enforceable, with a settlement of $6.5 million reached.
Maintaining a staff of attorneys licensed to practice in several states, Myron M. Cherry & Associates frequently pursues class-action litigation spanning state and federal jurisdictions. In one government investigation case, the firm was retained as Special Examiner by the state-level Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Cherry and his teams exhaustive investigative efforts resulted in a $250 million settlement.
Myron Cherry earned his L.L.B. from Northwestern University, serving as Northwestern Law Review editor during his time in law school. He has since completed the mediation course offered by Harvard Law School. In addition to his practice responsibilities, Cherry serves as Adjunct Professor of Trial Practice with Northwestern University.
