As the Chief Executive Officer of Legacy Communities, Steve F. Been develops land and sells first-rate housing for individuals in the Atlanta, Georgia, area. After becoming the companys CEO in 2004, Mr. Been spent several years contributing to his community. For example, one of the Legacy Communities clients served as a Coach for the South Fulton Little League team. He donated $1,000 to the organization to buy new uniforms for these young players in 2006. That same year, he hosted the Frank Ski Kids Foundation Youth Bowl in partnership with the Frank Ski organization. This philanthropist contributed trophies for all four teams in attendance and a trophy for the Most Valuable Player for the Youth Bowl in 2006, 2007, and 2008.

Steve Been, who graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors degree in Finance, also provided thousands of dollars to the Frank Ski Kids Foundation to help the association send the winners of an essay contest to the rain forest and the Galapagos Islands. Mr. Been selected the few finalists from their essays, and only a few children were picked as winners. He provided almost $60,000 for each of these vacations.

Furthermore, Professional Builder Magazine selected Steve F. Been as the Homebuilder of the Year in 2009. Legacy Communities has remained in the top-selling land development firms in Atlanta for the past few years, and the company usually sells more than 1,000 homes every year. Mr. Beens role as Homebuilder at Legacy Communities and as a supporter of area charities has brought him both professional success and the priceless opportunity to give back to local children.
