To Create A Vendor List For Fire Equipment

The agency is seeking to create a vendor list to send bids to for fire equipment and
supplies. The list is used for notifying interested vendors of bidding opportunities.

The Fire Training Section has ten staff members who work from offices located in Baker
City, Pendleton, Salem, Central Point and Bend. They assist 22 regional fire-training
associations and over 300 fire departments statewide. Regional fire training coordinators
work with fire departments to identify training needs and issues, assist with training
delivery, and facilitate processes to meet identified goals and objectives. Each year,
members of the Fire Training Section conduct more than 250 classes regionally to meet the
needs of the fire service. We have classrooms, fire training tower, ladder truck, engine,
tender and station at main campus in Salem Oregon.

The Fire Training Section facilitates regional delivery of entry-level, specialized,
leadership and maintenance training to DPSST's fire service constituents. The goal of the
unit is to develop and implement training strategies that maximize resources and meet
local and state training needs. Classes delivered include Mayday/Rapid Intervention, Air
Management, Live Fire Training (53 ft. portable Mobile Fire Training Unit). Fire Behavior,
Building Construction, ICS 100/200/300/400, WMD Awareness, Flammable Liquids and Gas, Farm
Machinery Extrication, Ventilation Techniques, International Public Safety Leadership &
Ethics Program, NFPA Instructor I, National Fire Academy's 'Courage to be Safe' program,
Water Tender Operations, Driver/Pumper Operations and the Skid Avoidance (Code 3) Driving
Program


How the process will work. If you have received the list in the past you will not be
removed. This opportunity is to continue with the advertisement to add new vendors. If you
are on the list and would like to be removed please send an email to
greg.riemer@state.or.us asking to be removed from the Fire vendor list.

We will identify item(s) that we will need to meet the needs to facilitate the training in
our programs. The vendors that have express interested in receiving bid opportunities will
receive an email with a description and quantities of items needed. The vendor can respond
to bid or not. (If vendor does not respond, they will not be removed for the bid list for
future bid opportunities.)

The following is a partial list of items that will be order from the this bid opportunity.
Fire hose all sizes from 1" to 5", Nozzles, appliances gates, wye etc., Fans gas
electrical, Power saws chain saw, rotary. Mounting brackets for equipment. Flashlights,
Wild land gear hats, coats, gloves, boots pants. Turnout gear.

The closing and any other requirements for each bid will be in the email that is sent.

The bid is awarded to the vendor's proposal that will best serve the interest of DPSST,
taking into account price as well as considerations including, but not limited to; the
vendor's experience and expertise in engineering and setting up similar systems in
comparable markets, product functionality, familiarity with facility purpose and
suitability for our particular purpose.

The vendor must be agreeable to the State of Oregon purchase order and terms and
conditions (see attached PDF in attachments exist for standard terms and conditions)

The vendor list will remain current until 6/30/2013. If at any time that your company no
longer wants to receive bid opportunities, just send an email to greg.riemer@state.or.us
and ask to be removed from vendor list for Fire equipment.

If any equipment is over five thousand dollars, $5,000.00 the agency will advertise it on
the ORPIN system as a stand-alone project.
