Online courses often require one or more proctored exams. Instructors can rely on on our supervised testing services whether onsite at a testing center or remotely administered online.
Three Flexible Options
We provide test proctoring services for courses offered through the Office of Distributed Learning. Access administrative support and test proctoring options for paper and computer formats.
Testing Center ? Columbia Campus
Students may take proctored exams in the Office of Distributed Learning Testing Center on the Columbia Campus. The center, which is located at 1716 College Street, has 9 computers/testing workstations. The center is open Monday ? Friday from 9:00 a.m. ? 5:00 p.m.
Our secure online proctoring service ProctorU allows students to take exams at times and locations that are convenient to them. Accessed using a webcam and internet connection ProctorU verifies the student's identity, records the testing session, and has every testing session reviewed by a certified proctor to ensure integrity. An $8-14 fee for online proctoring, depending on the length of the exam, is paid by students directly to ProctorU during their exam.

Approved Testing Sites
Students may opt to take an exam at an alternative on- or off-campus approved testing site.
USC System Sites
Students must inform the Office of Distributed Learning of their preferred testing site, and contact the site coordinator at least one week before each exam to schedule a test appointment.
