1. Complete your profile

This is your first, and most important step.
A complete profile, including a picture, makes people much more likely to connect with you. Plus, you-and your business-will only appear in searches if you have a profile picture.

Here's what makes a complete profile:

  1. Your resume: Include your career highlights and your most up-to-date information.
  2. A profile picture: you can post an image of your business or even a logo.
  3. Areas of interest: Post information that will help potential clients find you. For instance, if you're a personal trainer, list things like "Fitness", "Health", and "personal training".
  4. Additional Information: Write a short paragraph about you and your business. Or post your business statement or favourite quote.

2. List Your Business For Free

Next, get free advertising for your business by listing it in the Business Directory. Here's how:

  1. Click here to fill out the business listing form.
  2. Post your business name and a brief description of its products and services
  3. Choose your category and business location
  4. Click submit .

You're now included in Sales Spider's Business Directory.

You can also list your business while you're setting up your profile. Just click Edit Profile, scroll down the page and fill out your information.

3. Post a Free Classified Ad

Get free advertising and reach an audience of thousands in minutes with a free classified ad.

  1. Click here to create your classified ad.
  2. Fill out your contact information and a brief description of what you're looking for.
  3. Select the category, title and location.
  4. Click submit.

Your classified ad has now been posted and is ready to be searched by all of Sales Spider's members.
Want to make your ad even more effective? Just make it a Premium Ad.

4. Add People To Your Contact List

Start by searching for people you already know using the Find Friends feature.

Click here to use the Friend Finder, search your existing address books, and add your friends as contacts.

Next, connect to members who share your interests-or who are searching for a product or business like yours.

Under the "People" section, click on Connect To New People.

  1. In the search bar, enter keywords to find your target audience.
  2. Choose a location.
  3. Choose your areas of interest.
  4. Click search, and read through your search results.

Now click "Add To Address Book" on everyone you'd like to add to your contact list. They will receive an "Invitation To Connect" and if they approve, you'll be able to start networking with them.

You're on your way to building a great list of connections for both you and your business.

5. Use Opportunity Matching to Find Leads

What about finding new business leads?

You can do this in moments by using the Opportunity Matching feature. It's a great way to connect with people as well.

Opportunity Matching is like a dating application for businesses. It uses your selected keywords to find the best business matches for you in just moments. Here's how to use it:

  1. Go to the Opportunity Matching search platform :
  2. Choose keywords for your search. It could be things like: management, financial, construction.
  3. Choose the location and type of opportunity (leads, people, etc) that you're looking for.
  4. Hit "Search" and check out your opportunity matches!

Your keywords will be saved and Opportunity Matching will automatically search for new matches every day. It does the hard work for you and makes building your business that much easier.

6. Start Networking

Networking can build you business because it helps create a personal relationship between you and potential partners.

Here's some handy hints on how to network on Sales Spider.

  1. Join a forum that interests you and get involved in the discussion. Not only is it a great way to meet people, it's a great way to get more business tips. You can even create a forum of your own.
  2. Send an email to a new contact and start a conversation. You never know who will turn out to be your newest customer-or business partner.
  3. Check your Opportunity Matching results every day. New leads are added to Sales Spider each day. Be sure to stay up to date.
