How to Set the Time on a Baby G Watch?

Below are instructions on how to set an average Casio Baby G watch, both digital and digital/analogue. These instructions are based on Australian models.

1.    1. Familiarize yourself with the buttons at the side of the watch. The button at the top left is generally the "adjust" button, bottom left is "mode", and top right and bottom right will allow you to alter number values up and down.

2.    2. Make sure to be on the main time screen. Press the bottom left "mode" button to run through the screens if you're not sure - you will pass things such as the Hand Set, alarm, stopwatch, timer and world time. The main time screen will generally come up after world time. Press the bottom left button each time you want to change screen.

3.    3. When on the main time screen, hold down the top left "adjust" button for a couple of seconds. A beep will sound and the numbers will begin to flash, typically starting with the seconds but depending on the style of watch, the Home City may flash first. If that is the case, use the top right and bottom right buttons to change the city to the nearest one to you that has the same time zone.

    4. Change the seconds by using the top right or bottom right buttons depending on if you want to go up or down and then press the bottom left "mode" button to move on to the next part of the time. If you don't want to set the seconds, just press "mode" straight away.

5.     5. At this point, either the hour or minutes will be flashing. Use the top right and bottom right buttons to adjust. Press mode to move on to the other time value such as hour or minute, depending on what you changed first. Once you have the time right, press the bottom left "mode" button again.

     6. You should now be able to change the date. Again, using the top right and bottom right buttons, adjust the day, month or year depending on what the watch lets you change first. Press the bottom left "mode" button to progress to the next part of the date and repeat until day, month and year are all up to date.

7.     7. Depending on the model of your watch, you could now be asked to select whether you want 12hr or 24hr time. Select using the top right bottom right buttons and hit mode again. When you have set every element, you will eventually be brought back to the start.

     8. To finish, press the top left "adjust" button to lock in your time. You are now done, unless you have a digi/analogue watch, in which case continue reading.

          9. If your watch has an analogue time as well as digital time, the watch may automatically calibrate the analogue time to match the digital time. However, if the watch doesn't do this (i.e. the hands tell a different time to the digital), press the bottom left "mode" button until the digital screen says "H-S (with the digital time)" "H-S" "Hand Set" "Hand Set (digi time)" or similar. This is your hand set screen.

10. 10. Now hold in the top left "adjust" button for a couple of seconds. A beep will sound and the digital screen will most likely start flashing. Use the top right and bottom right buttons to move the hands. Some models will only allow you to move one way using the bottom right button so you may have to be patient. Pressing the bottom right button moves the minute hand by one minute and holding it in will make the hand move around faster.

11. 11. Hold the bottom right button in to move the minute hand. You might have to wait to go through the hours until it matches with the digital time. As you get closer to the right time stop holding the bottom right button and press it the final few times to set it to the time you need. If you hold on too long, you may go past the time you need and have to go around all over again.

12. 12. When the hands match the digi time, press top left "adjust" button to lock it in and you are done. Some watches may automatically return you to the main time screen but if your digi screen still says "H-S" "H-Set" etc. then hit the bottom left "mode" button until you come back around to the main screen.
